Bonneville Shoreline Trail.  It is easily the largest, and most notable regional trail in all of Utah.  Concieved in the early 90s, over 110 miles of the Bonneville Shorline Trail effort have been built state wide - including Cache Valley's purpose built BST between Logan and Green Canyon as well as our useful deer fence alignment stretching from Logan Dry Canyon to Blacksmith Fork Canyon. 

But we could do better.  Residents of Richmond, Smithfield, Hyde Park and North Logan, not to mention Mendon, Wellsville, Hyrum and Paradise don't have any Bonneville Shoreline Trail outside their back door, even though a plan has existed since 2002 to build Bonneville Shoreline Trail behind these communities. 

Here at the Trails Cache, we're going to be working to extend and improve the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.  Some of that has to do with approaching members of the community, rather than state or federal agencies, who own the hillsides below designated wilderness areas.  One fear that must be overcome is that a 'public trail user' is a vandal and criminal.   We know, and precedent has demonstrated, that your average trail user is a marathoner, a mountain biker, a bird watcher, or hiker.  The average trail user is likely you, reading these words.
