Hyde Park City Trail Bonus Density Ordinance
On February 9, 2022, Hyde Park City passed a Trails Bonus Density Ordinance. This is a land-use tool to incentivize any new development to dedicate an easement for trails in exchange for added density (i.e. housing) to the property. This means getting legal, protected trail access for perpetuity. This will be a great way for us to extend the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
We are ecstatic about this ordinance and hope that it can be an example for other communities in Cache Valley.
Great work to Hyde Park City's previous Mayor, Charles Wheeler, their Planning Commission, City Council Members, and all involved!
