Cache Responds is a new volunteer program within Cache County Sheriff’s Office supporting county emergency management and public safety with new capabilities and teams.

Our Mission

Strengthening communities by providing training, supporting local emergency response efforts, and enhancing county emergency readiness. 

We empower volunteers with the skills, resources, and education needed to serve lives, assist emergency management, and build a more resilient community.

Core Capabilities

Volunteers develop technical competencies and align with specialized emergency support teams based on county operational needs:

  • Emergency Operations Center Support
  • Debris Cleanup Support Teams
  • Disaster Response Teams
  • Rehab, Volunteer, Shelter, and Coordination Center Support Teams
  • Access and Functional Needs Support
  • Pet / Livestock Support Teams
  • Community Preparedness Trainers

Technical Skill Development

Volunteers will progress through both standardized and specialized skills training to enable 

  • Incident Admin Support: Maintaining ICS records (214/211), SITREPs, and EOC data entry of community damage assessments.
  • Field Site Support: Configuring field rehab areas, shelters, and MARC facilities.
  • Recovery Support: Debris management, light search/rescue, initial triage, and radio communcations.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Managing VCC intake, credential verification, and deployment.

Create a volunteer profile on the online UtahResponds portal, a state volunteer registry.  We have partnered with UtahResponds for a secure, web-based system that helps identify, credential, and deploy volunteers when needed.

    • During the Registration process, select the Cache County Emergency Management organization and select Cache Responds.
    • If you have an existing U-Train account at https://www.train.org/utah, link this to your profile to import your training records on file.
